Initiatives

BAT

The Bogeyman Action Team is targeting doorstep crime, where someone comes to the door and tricks the householder into letting them in so that they can steal or otherwise persuade the householder to hand over money. They may pose as officials - water, gas, or electricity, try to sell something, or seek payment for doing a job (garden/resurface the drive/roof). A trial is being carried out in the North Cumbria and Eden area. More information.

Farm Watch

There are many ways in which farmers can safeguard their property, and a leaflet has been produced called the "Farm Safety & Crime Prevention Pack" which can be downloaded here.

Smartwater

Smartwater is a revolutionary product that has helped cut crime by up to 84%! Its forensic properties are similar to DNA and can irrefutably link property to its owner and criminals to the crime scene. You are 5 times less likely to become a burglary victim if you use Smartwater to mark your property and protect your business premises. More information.
